Academic Honesty Policy
The Academic Honesty Policy is in place to help students be successful while at CPMA Middle School.  It is the goal of the Academic Honesty Policy to create an atmosphere of academic honesty by all participants.
 
Academic Ethics
 
DO:
  1. Your own work
  2. Give credit when you use the thoughts and ideas of others in your work
  3. Keep your own materials ready to use and in good condition
  4. Study and come to class prepared to work.
  5. Work hard to earn a grade that reflects what you have learned.
DO NOT:
  1. Let other students copy tests, assignments, or homework.
  2. Plagerize by using thoughts and materials from other studnets, books, magazines, or online sources without giving credit.
  3. Steal, exchange, or alter your own materials or the materials of others.
  4. Ditch or come to class unprepared to work
  5. Try to talk a teacher into givin you a grade that you did not work hard to earn
Technology Ethics
 
DO:
  1. Use the school technology to help you learn and become a better student.
  2. Use school technology for classroom assignments only.
  3. Be polite and have good manners when using technology.
  4. Keep all personal information private and confidential when using school technology.
DO NOT:
  1. Use school technology to access, display, print, or store any inappropriate or profane materials.
  2. Use school technology for personal use, political lobbying, or advertising.
  3. Use technology to bully, verbally abuse, or intimidate others.
  4. Reveal any addresses, phone numbers, or other personal information when using school technology.
Violations of the Academic Honesty Policy may result in the following consequences:
  • Students may receive a zero on the assignment or test
  • The citizenship grade will be no higher than an "N" for that 6 week progress report.
  • Parents will be notified
  • The offense will be reported to the counselor and kept in the student's permanent file.
  • Referral
  • May result in detention, Saturday School, or Suspension
  • May receive an F for the grading period.
  • May be removed from the class.
