Discipline Policy
Electronic Devices Policy
Students may possess an electronic device on campus. However, all electronic devices may only be used before school begins and after school ends. They may NOT be used during school hours and must be kept out of sight and turned off. During school hours, they may not ring, vibrate or be seen. Any staff member who hears or sees an electronic device may confiscate it. For the first offense, the item will be returned to the student only after the policy has been signed by the parent and returned to administration. For the second offense, the electronic device will be returned to the parent, the policy must be completed and returned to administration. For repeated offenses, the electronic device will only be returned to the parent, the electronic device policy must be completed, and the student may be assigned additional consequences. CPMA is not responsible for electronic devices that are lost, stolen or damaged at school. Students bring them at their own risk. CPMA is under no obligation to search for missing or stolen electronic devices.
CPMA Discipline Policy
Students are to respect the directions of every staff member. The discipline code is in effect whenever a CPMA student is on campus. The following behaviors are absolutely forbidden at any time and will result in disciplinary action:
• Defiance of authority
• Habitual tardiness
• Classroom defiance or disruption
• Possession or use of weapons
• Fighting
• Use of drugs or alcohol
• Smoking or possession of tobacco products
such as cigarettes, lighters or matches
• Extortion or threats
• Theft
• Vandalism
• Graffiti
• Profanity
• Cyber Bullying or Internet Harassment
• Inappropriate use of technology
• Gambling
• Leaving campus without permission
• Misbehavior going to or from school
• Loitering
• Truancy
• Gum chewing
• Running other than during supervised PE
• Littering
• “Play fighting," pushing, shoving
• Abusive language
• Walking or running through landscaping
• Public display of affection, including holding hands, hugging and/or kissing.
• Inappropriate Items: Possession or use of items inappropriate to the educational process are prohibited. Some examples of inappropriate items are poppers, CD players, laser pointers, tape recorders, video games, cameras, rollerblades, scooters, toys, spray cans, and trading cards. For the first offense, the item will be returned to the student after the parent signs a warning. For the second offense, the item will only be returned to the parent. Items not retrieved within one week will be discarded. Items for repeat offenders may be confiscated until the end of the school year. CPMA is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
